* The village of Heston lies towards the north of Hounslow and has been settled since Saxon times. A charter of Henry II gives the name as Hestune, meaning “enclosed settlement," which its location in what was the Warren of Staines, between the ancient Roman road to Bath, and the Uxbridge Road to Oxford, justifies. ( ideal location to get anywhere, so chiswick is round the corner, my neighbours live in ealing borough, the building behind my flat is osterly house..... and oh i can see Wembly arch. and and and it's 20 mins by bus from Hammersmith. why is it zone 4?)
